Hey ya'll i'm a noob to the quad building show, but I have a 440 wiseco set 12.5:1 with a xr 400 stage 3 cam. It doesnt seem tobe making the power it should be. I have played with valve lash and they are currently at .oo4 in and .oo5ex and have a 65 main jet with a kn filter and no box lid with a fmf megamaxx 2 slip on. What can I do it doesnt seem any differwnt that stock bore. Also I have been rreading alot about 450 timing chains. What does this involve?

Any help appreciated, thanks

Wait, you have a 65 main jet? You mean 165???

If that is the case you are WAY to lean more than likely. It doesn depend on your elevation, but generally with all those mods you should be at least a 180 main maybe.

Are you sure its timed properly, what exactly does it do when running-just doesnt seem like it has power or does it bog or sputter? Whats the plug look like-white means lean, tan/brown is good, black is to rich. Are you sure you timed it properly.

Its the stage 3 cam and the jetts, stage 3 is for stroker motors.

The jetts should be pretty big for a 440 180 maybe, depending on elevation....etc. I use a 220 main jet and probally could go up.

If your gonna try to jett it yourself, I have a easy way to get the best results.

yes i mean 165 main i thought i hit the one button lol

what is your fast easy way to results i live in the kansas city mo area im not quite sure bout th elevation

and the stage three was advertised for a big bore also

im 100% sure of the timing

i think it is a little lean because it backfires a pretty good pop and a blue flame on decel. no bog really it just doesnt seem any faster than stock i mean and the local test and tune i was running 6.4-6.6 and a stock 400 was running 6.3-6.5 with a filter and slipon. 330 ft times on sand
