Last night (Brandy) his girlfriend said he was taken off the respirator and able to breathe on his own. Had some small area bleeding by the brain. It sounds like he will be ok. For those that do not know Earl, still keep him in your prayers. He is a good down to earth farm boy that would lend help to anyone. I will have brandy come on here and give a more detail update.

I also heard he is doing okay. Hes one of the nicest riders I have ever met. We road up at Log Raod in MI and he is wicked fast.

Brandy sent me a text earlier and said: Earl became more alert and even sat up alone and they had him stand up too.

Went in for MRI but woke up and crawled out of tube. Not sure what the plan is now. Second time they have tried and been unsuccessful. He can't stay awake very long without someone constantly touching him and talking to him. Really need some prayers.

Earl was more alert this morning, hes just very tired and very sore. They moved him out of his bed and into a chair for about an hour. They should be moving him into a new room today. Later they might have to sedate him so they can get the MRI done.

It was a few turns after the start on a fast section. Everyone was still tight, looked like Earl touched with someone that sent him flying. People were saying he got ran over but I just someone hit the bike and the bike hit him. It was a nasty wreck. * I do have to call out the track staff, it took way way way too long for someone to get to him. * I was right in the pit tents and John Natalie was in there even yelling at track personnel to get over there.

his g/f posted this elsewhere on this forum:

Thank you to everyone for the good wishes and prayers. Much needed and appreciated. In his second pro am moto Saturday 2nd lap was passing into 4th but clipped a kicker which threw him over the bars and tumbling, which was awful on its own but whil mid tumble he was hit by another rider right in the front, helmet taking almost all the impact. Was knocked out and air lifted out. Lots of head trauma, sligh bleeding on brain. Loss of left foot control. Lots of bruises cuts. Had stitches on foredhead. No short term memory. Sleeping 95% of the time. Can't walk without assistance, very slowly. Very dizzy and off balance cause of head.

He was run over and the orther rider came back to check on him
It was so dusty you could not see him . Earl got out of shape when he hit the hole after the jump and was thown on the ground and got tangled with his quad .

We are home now. All the same problems, but hes more alert and trying to wake up more. Still sleeps most of the time and having trouble remembering anything. Walking is still a work in progress. i expect in a few days time the swelling should be going down, pain will relieve a little and he will hopefully continue to get stronger. He is no where near where he wants to be but so much better than a few days ago. He is such a strong person that I believe he will make a full recovery, just gonna take time. The accident was very nasty he did crash on his own as far as I know but was hit by another rider. The front off his helmet is ripped apart. He probably should not be with us but our prayers were answered. thank you so much to everyone. You will never know how much its meant to me.

FYI to the riders who were near him. He has been awake enough for me to tell him of the crash and he has absolutely no hard feelings toward anyone. It's racing he said and he knows the people he rides with are great people and would never intentionally hurt him.
