Start at 175 and work your way down, Id say you will win up with 170/168 main, 42 pilot, 2.5-3 turns out air/fuel screw.

Awesome, thanks!

On JetsRus.com, do I need to get genuine Keihin jets, or OEM Keihin jets?

It all depends, there are to many factors to consider really to make a spot on suggestion. Hence "START" as t175 and work your way down.

I have a similar setup and run a 170 main and Im very close to sea level.

Well it turns out my carb may be broken. What jets should I start out with if I use a 450r carb?

Broken, how so? As in needs rebuild (easy) or something internally is busted?

450r carb will be relatively close, just a larger pilot, say around 50-52.

The post that holds the pin that the float swivels on broke. We were able to jb weld it in place for a ride, but the gasoline is rotting it away.

So the main jets should still be somewhere around that of the 400 carb?

Yes, roughly speaking. But always start higher and move lower imho. Some find they have insanely high jets (some as high as 220 mains) and others find its almost spot on for the EX carb. Im not sure why honestly.

Sucks about the post, since the material is cast there isnt much you can do. Me, Id figure out a way to rig it-like drill a hole, tap it for a screw and drill a hole in screw for the post lol

Well its just another excuse to upgrade!

Id rather upgrade the carb than worry about the float getting messed up when i go riding.

Usually 3rd notch from the flat end (top) is about right for most.
