I have 3 of the 90 cc typhoons. 1 will not shift, 1 had the electric start quit and the other broke the chain. They are only a year old. Anyone have advice? Is the gear problem a hard fix? Thank you in advance.

Wow, lots of helpful answers.

Shifting problems can be really difficult and expensive to fix. Often the problem is a bent shift fork, which isn't terribly expensive itself as a component, but paying somebody to split the cases and replace it IS expensive, along with all the other goofy stuff that comes from splitting the cases (gaskets, replacing the bearings, ect ect)

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it very much. I will go at from that perspective. My kids will appreciate having them all back on the road and not having to double up anymore........I agree the chinese atv is bad but never the less I have them and they need to be fixed...I have a yamaha 80 that is worse though so there you go! Thanks again for the real answer.

on the electric starter, there is a fuse under the seat, sometimes the seat crushes the fuse case, had this happen on all three of ours. go to the 90cc section of this forum, then go to the typhoon section, people there will give you more help then most of these did.

You say it wont shift, is the shifter not moving, or when you shift it, the bike does not move?? These bikes are terrible for breaking the centrifugal clutch off, wich is mounted to the crank. They will run, just wont go anywhere.

I think that is the problem. I hear the gears inside rattling. Looks like it will have to be cracked.
The fuse was bad under the seat. Thanks for that heads up didn't see it before.
I appreciate the advice very much. Happy riding to u and be safe!
