I really should pick up some nice riding boots to give my feet better protection, especially with having bone chips in my ankles and they both sprain easily. My problem is I have a size 11 triple E plus a bunyon on my left foot. All othe local shops have a one size fits all and none are comfortable. I don't mind spending a buck or two but I don't want to order something on the net w/o trying it on or at least getting a reccomendation from someone else in my shoes (like how i did that?, give it a minute )

Anyway if there is anyone else out there with wide feet that was able to find some comfartable boots at a reasonable price, please share. ty guys

No boot is going to be really comfortable straight out of the box. They are made to be stiff to protect, and it takes a while for the leather to give.

That being said I typically wear a size 12 wide and I wear Sidi Crossfire SRS's. I love them, and by far the most comfortable boot I've ever put on my foot.

I bought my boots from RM atv - alpine star Vector - not sure if they are available but I use the short socks (above the ankle) they were comfortable from the start. size 10 W no bunyons ;)

I was wearing EE skates before, so I have a pretty wide foot.

But I manage to fit into my Alpinestars Tech 3s just fine. My foot size is a 12, they only had an 11 or 13 when buying so I went with the 13 and it seems to fit fine, especially when wearing thick Fox riding socks underneath.

Get that bunion treated by a foot specialist. Your walking will improve.

Well we can dispell that myth ;)

Bunyon surgery is painfull and ineffective, so I have been told by three people who had the procedure, one being my RN sister.

I will try the AT3 in an over size and see how they feel, problem is nobody stocks anything and I don't want to spend $200 and then toss them into the closet because they are too painful to wear. Thanks guys for the suggestions, if anyone knows of any dealers or reatilers that stock these, it would be helpful.

Flip Flops w/ hand guards mounted on the footpegs? Just a thought.

No one accounts for the bunyons but thought it might help with where you spend your money

Ok I'm sure the whole riding community has been holing their collective breath wondering how I made out with my boot search :D

I went to Mount Holly Power Sports with my brother to pick up some parts for his quad, turns out this guy had over 50 pair of boots upstairs (the # grows everytime I tell the story though) and I mamanged to find a really wide boot for $100. \o/

There are other ways to help with the bunyon besides surgery. Kinesio tape works wonders.

ty for the tip Aarons, next time I have a flare up I will try it but in the mean time my $99 MSR boots are more comfortable then my sneakers, go figure...either way I'm pleasantly suprised
