Blown Motors Thread

Thought this would be interesting. Just post your age and the motors that you've blown up over those years and how haha.

I just turned 18 and I've grenaded 4 lol.

80cc yamaha moto 4: Sucked a screw from the carb into the cylinder. (Not sure exactly what the screw was for I was like 8 or 9 at the time so don't remember details)

2000 Polaris 800 XCR sled: Destroyed the clutch side cylinder walls. Typical triple lol.

John Deere Lawnmower: Locked it up 4 times. Finally blew up the 5th time.

Old Push Mower: It was in the yard when we bought the property. Used it for a while to cut down bushes and smaller trees lol. Then one day drained the oil filled it with water and fired it up. Ran for about 15 minutes then away she went.

1994 mazda b4000 (aka a ford ranger)

none of the gauges worked. Turns out somewhere along the way, me taking it off road cracked something or other ( maybe just a hose corroded) not sure, caused all my coolant to leak out.

2 -1998 skidoo mxz 500 liquid engines. one was a bad crank seal, other corroded main jet on one side.

Despite trying to make it blow, my old dodge work van pos wouldnt die. The boss told me I would get a new truck when that one failed, I tried to make it die b/c it burned oil and I hardly ever added any. At one point I put 4qts in and it wasnt even knocking-the thing wouldnt die lol.

Sounds like you just can't ride....

I have gone through 3 Chevy 350 motor's that were stroked to 383's with all the good stuff for the internals... We used them for derby racing. They were the old ice engines that ran so cool, you could run them full bore without coolant for 30 minutes until they overheated or just blew up!!

two 300ex motors, one i smoked the transmission because we forgot to put a washer back in and the other one the rod bearing locked up and i pulled to counterbalancer out of the hole in the front of the motor

Then i smoked a piston in my 250r and that is all

a banshee about 6 times broke a rod twice the rest just broke pistons and burnt a hole thru one
blew up the 250r once

and working blowing up an ltr now lol maybe i shouldnt say that
but have already put a 3rd gear in it so does that count
oh yeah locked up a ford 302 cause it had a hole in the radiator and i had to get home lol but once it cooled off i jbwelded hole put more oil in it and drove it with some collaped rings for another 2 months or so lol

2.) 1979 IT 180 (sold)
3.) 1986 KX 125 (sold)

ive never blown up a four stroke bike ever, maybe i just suck at riding two strokes lol

getting my second 660 motor rebuilt right now....first one was the counterbalancer woodruff key and the second time was the upgraded tranny. 3 5.0 motors( 2 in a mustang and one in an 89f250) a 2.3l in a mustang (tranny went so I just held it until it blew) , 300ex motor (dropped a valve) 5.9l cummins (couldn;t handle the 44 inch tsl boggers with stock drivetrain :) and a pair of 350's in an 83 camaro ( 10+ minute burnouts)

damn thats a hard task to do there, i had an old 97 warrior that i beat the **** out of, and so did the previous owner. never had much trouble out of that thing. the guy who has it now is still abusing it every weekend with no problems

I had 6.2l diesels pretty much my whole life, them things are hard to blow up. I pulled the sleeve down into the crankshaft in my 300ex.

had me 440ex blow up 4 times on me last time it did it broke everything, all bearings shot broke rod its not worth fixing :(. but now i got a trx 450er :)

had a cylinder and crank go in a 1992 polaris 440 indy

our 2004 polaris xcsp 600 came to us with a pinched oil line good thing for warranty

locked my old 250 recon solid that didn't have a easy life funny enough it was full of oil then sucked itself dry

when building up the old 300ex it needed to be bored out

for the yfz never blew it just happen to replace everything that needed to be replaced in time except i have smoked my fair share of clutch plates because of my rekluse z start clutch goin exp when its out for quads

im 25, i blew up an old 3hp briggs and stratton bout 10 years ago that was on a mini bike that we had
also when i was 16 i threw a rod through the side a 1989 nissan 240 KA24E motor

19 and i havent blown up any. ive blown my share of gaskets and what have you but never completely ruined a motor.
