uni air filter?

does anyone know if the uni filter requires the stock air filter cage. i have a k&n and when i ride in really dusty sandy area's i want to use a uni.

I just put a uni in mine yesterday and yes you put it over the stock cage.

My cage broke while installing it, only the base of the cage is in my uni. I have not had any problems at all, basically not having the cage under the uni.
