will a 440ex with full exaust, and a hot cam sage one, and no air box lid with a k+n, keep up with a piped banshee?

Wont even keep up with a stocker unless it has a cam and some intake mods.

The shee will win.

The shee will not win. I can beat my friends 370 banshee with pipes almost always. Then i'm either even or losing (by about 3 quad lengths) to a banshee that has pipes, reeds, k&n, jetted and other stuff. Either way its a close race and definately comes down to the rider in this instant.

I raced a (new) stock Banshee on pavement a bunch of times.

It all started while I was play riding in our local sand pit. A guy with a Banshee showed up and we rode around together for 1/2 or so, then we got to talking. The Banshee owner then asked if I minded racing him on the pavement to see how his "shee"runs against the 440EX. I being equally as curious, said yes.

My set up at the time had a wiseco 89mm piston (435cc's) with 9.6:1 compression ratio, a White Brothers track cam, White Brothers rev-box, open air box with k&N, a full White Brothers R4 exhaust WITH THE SCREEN IN, a stock head, and a 14 tooth front sprocket.

Now this stretch of pavement would only let us run to about 65mph (as measured on my portable GPS) before we would run out of room.

We ran 5 times and were dead even every time. I mean DEAD even. The bikes acclerated at the exact same rate, as were next to each other through every gear.

Now the way I had my bike geared, I ran out of rev at about 66 mph. The Banshee should run over 70 mph, so had we more room, the Banshee would have continued on. BUT, we acclerated at the same rate to 65 mph.

Considering the Banshee sucks to ride on the trails but rips in the open, I was very happy with the results becasue I then realized I had the best of both worlds on my 440ex.

Now I'm hopeing that the below set up will beat a stock Banshee but I haven't run one yet. The new set up should accelerate much better than the previous.

Banshee. Without problem. Dunes or not. If Tractions available, the banshee will shine like it should against the toddler 4 stroke.

No need to be a smart ***. The 440ex should not have a problem beating it. There is always a demand for banshee riders, IF THERE IS TRACTION. I can beat this 370 banshee almost always.

I was being no smart ***, boy.

The fact of the matter is if youre beating the banshee.....youre either a better rider, or the banshee rider cant handle the machine (common issue). A 400EX will hang with a Raptor or DS without problem if the rider on the 400EX is advanced enough. When it comes down to it, its the rider, not the machine. However: Equal riders on a Banshee and 400EX: Banshee will take the 4 cycle to school and back.

If you cant handle a quad....you desperately need to switch to dirt bikes.

Dont listen to these Banshee freaks. I have seen on many occasions a 440 beat a banshee. I have also seen a 465 beat a banshee by 4 lengths. A lot of it has to do with the rider but these guys saying a 440 wont beat a stock banshee that is B.S. Stock banshees really arent that fast.

How about we all just ease up a bit here. Just because one quad beat one other quad doesn't make it the rule across the entire country.

I would have no problem admitting to losing, like i did in my first post. But to say the rider sucks if i beat him is just BS. This rider is a lot better than i am. He can smoke me in the trails. In a actually drag race i kill them out of the hole, even on the pavement. So they don't have enough time to hall me in. On pavement i lose but its because they have traction. Hey i'm fair, i race on both dirt roads, paved roads and across a field.

A stock banshee put out @ 40 hp, Piped @ 45hp
A 440 @ 38, a built 440 @ 45
The numbers for a built 440 can match or beat the hp of a banshee. So the numbers are there and I've seen 440 beat and even smoke Banshee's, when 2 atv hp are that close it comes down to the riders.
