Im looking for a lighting set up for my 400ex. Since my plastics dont have the stock headlights i cant just use the same set up as in the sticky section. I was thinking of getting some lights and mounting them to my bars and then use the same HID set up. I was thinking of using the 55w system. Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions? Thanks

No problem guys, glad to help.

If you are going to go with any of the cheapy Auto Parts Stores type lights, don't waste your time with the H3 LED bulbs.
They do not have enough output yet.

Maybe in a few months, if they start putting a CREE Q5 SMD type LED on them, we will have that option.
Until then, the little SMD's that are currently available on the H3 base, just don't cut it, as far as useable, projectable, effective, light output for modified
headlights.
Trust me, I just picked up some of the LED H3's as a test.
No Bueno!

They would be Great as a flagpole topper light,... but they have a ways to go before they are an effective HEADLIGHT option.

Right now, for either the OEM Headlights using a H6M bulb,...
OR,..
When using a Pep Boys type driving/fog light using a H3 bulb,...

You are better off to go with a 35w HID conversion kit.

Best "Bang for your Buck", and if you change the TAILLIGHT Bulb to an LED, at the same time... you will end up with almost a Zero increase in load, on your stator.
