just putting my engine back together after tranny rebuild. do not have cylinder on yet and noticed that the crank only rotates easily in one direction, when turning the other direction there is resistence, It feels like it may be the clucth on the fly wheel or? is this correct. this is with the gear off the right side of the crank so I am only turning the left or fly wheel side. if i recall correctly when doing valve adjustments that the engine always rotated harder in one direction. well any input is apprecitated. bill

If your question is what direction to turn the crank, my manual says turn counterclockwise(looking at left side of engine) when adjusting valves....

yeah I knew that, was wondering when you turn them the opposite way if it turns harder, that what I am noticing is a lot of resitence in the other directon. I beleive its the clutch for the stater? just do not want to take side cover off to prove it. thanks Bill
