I'm planning on putting a JE 11:1 stock bore or 416 piston in soon with a hotcam stage 2 and a ported head. Will the stock rod hold up to this set-up? I think it will but after lookin' at the pics from the dude who's rod broke and ripped up his motor, I'm not so sure anymore. What do you guys think? Was that just a freak mishap or do rods tend to break more often than I think with this set-up. I do mainly recreational riding, hill climbin', drag racing, and a little trail riding. Thanks for any opinions.:ermm:

better to be safe then sorry. I would spend the extra $$$ and get a heavy duty rod.

no, there is no need to get a rod for those mods unless you have extra $$ laying around, but then why not go the whole way and build a 13:1 440 stroker

You can used the OEM rod, no probs. ****, CT racing uses the OEM rod on thier midrange 440 kit.
