I've got a nuuubbbbbeeeee question for you guys. What is a good left and right from center steering degree for mx. I'm doing a frame swap from a single a arm to a dual a arm. I'm using the stem from the single and seem like I'm only getting 10 to 15 degrees left or right from center. Any input sure would be appreciated.

thanks

should be more than that. did you go from 41in to 44in on the a-arms or 41 single to 41 dual? if you went to 44, you also need to get the longer steering rods. that might be your issue.

Sorry bout that went to 44 and have new rods but seems like steering stem is hitting mount too soon.

if you are talking about the bottom of the steering stem, where it meets the frame and the tie rods connect, if its hitting the frame stops, that's all she's got. that should pitch the wheels (from memory) ~35 deg or so. if the wheels stop turning before the stem hits the frame stops, you have an problem. a picture would save, I dunno, 999 words or so....

Ok Eric, the bug thing has to go on your avatar. I flicked at it once and it drives me nuts! :blah:

is the flag on the stem ( flat piece the rods bolt to) longer from the single to dual a a arm? when i put dual a arms on our trx i wasnt getting the radius we needed and had to extend the flag to get the wheels to turn sharper. a half inch made a huge difference

when I bought the frame it didn't come with the stem, so not sure if the flag is longer.

yea, I think I have a bug in my computer. see if you can kill it. I already smashed two laptop screens trying to get it. its a hard SOB to smash!I

BTW- if you want more angle on your steering, take the stem off and get your grinding wheel out. just make sure you don't go too far or the wheels might hit the nerf bars when they turn hard.

try to get a measurement of the flag on the stem you have and i will get one of the stock dual a arm one in the garage. im going to measure from the center of the stem to the center of one of the holes

2.5 inches from center of stem to center of hole for the dual a arms stem.

I think that it was pretty common on several years of the DRR's to have to trim down the steering stops. I cant remember if you trim the frame part or the stem part....pretty sure frame.
