View Full Version : 300ex stripped bolt help!!!

puttin a new carrier in my 1998 300ex. last bolt on the brake rotor stripped out. i need to get it off without hurting the threads. i done tried vise grips. any help wuld be great

The bolt or the nut?

Cut, drill, use better visegrips (make them to tight its hard to close them), bolt off sockets, etc.

Id just cut it off and get another bolt, home depot probably has ones that would work.

Or if you wanted to buy some more tools, they make a set of socket type rounded-off nut remover tools. I have a set, can't remember the dam name! lol... Anyway, it looks like a socket, but finned inside. You pound it lightly on the rounded nut, then use socket to spin the nut off.

Craftsman bolt offs, home depot sells a similar (and cheaper set) made by irwin tools btw.
