I looked for a while for one until I found what I wanted. Went from a 04 450r to a jb yz450 hybrid and do regret ever touching a 450.

Just take your time looking and don't buy the first piece of **** that you come across. If you can get it one from the origional owner/builder that right there is worth so much becuase they know what everything is for and what they hd to do to get everything to work so if you have problems you can ask them.

yea i know what your saying alot of people dont know what they have. which sometimes can work in your favor for the price but thats another story.

i'v considered buying a 400ex and converting it but at 14 i dont have the fabricating skills for that

Hey man, did you see this? sounds like maybe what your looking for. I'm looking for something with the 250r geometry, but maybe just what you need. Had a couple price drops too.

Yeah I hear that. No matter what, each bike you have posted is immaculate. Still love to get an email with some details and ballpark figure when you get a chance. Thanks!

Ive got a very low hour houser 426 in the garage with axis long travel for 4500 sitting in my garage. Motor needs put back together but everything is there, and I am in Idaho about 4 hours away from you. The original builder is still the owner, I just have it sitting in my garage.

I believe a big factor in less hybrids being for sale is the fact that history is repeating itself. 450s are pretty much not being made anymore except 1 or 2 brands and people are going to hybrids.

Quick list
Axix long travel, No link rear
Houser chasis, houser a arms and swing arm
Chrome stem with a GPR dampner
Big radiator
Beadlocks on rear
YZF 426 motor with a 444 big bore.
IT honestly doesnt have much time on it.
I helped him build it in 2003-04
Ran afew worcs races and local mx races
Went to Glenn helen and broke his arm
Sat for about a year
Took it to the oregon dunes and blew up the motor
Sat in the shop for another few years
Decided to get it back together
Got new crank and piston
Had a local shop put the bottom end back together
Had a knock in it so we took it apart and found the nit next to clutch basket making a few knicks in the basket and installed a new cam chain.
Been sitting in my garage ever since
He spent close to 25G building it
Now he just doesnt want to deal with it.

Idahomx how much you looking to get?

IdahoMX
04-30-2011, 02:56 PM
The motor is all there with new crank bearings installed with a new rod and piston. We had it back together and running but it had a slight knock so we took the motor back apart and found the clutch basket was hitting the big nut right next to it. I dont know if he got the wrong basket or what but it was taken back apart and a new cam chain installed but havent got around to putting it back together so it sits in pieces on my bench. I am no tthe owner but he said he would take 4500 for it as it sits. Its probably one of the lowest hour hybrids you will find. He over shot a double at Glenn Helen and broke his arm and lost the desire to ride after that. That was in 05. It was taken to Oregon dunes where the crank went bad and has sat ever since.

If I had 2500 to spend on another quad I would think about it.

SHIFTx450

It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. If you would slow down and read a little bit you've noticed I wasn't asking 4k, but 2500. Complete hybrid minus carb..

If I gotta get another carb and spend hours dialing it in swapping jets I'll be tacking on my time in parts and labor to that 2500.

Just got balljoint in the mail, but busy work week remaining. I'll be getting it back together 100% tentatively by Sunday.

Found a 42mm fcr from my 06 450r, haven't yet decided if I want to try it out.

I've said this too, because I myself would never buy something without hearing it run first - If you want to buy it now before I decide what to do with the carb issue now, I do have a 39mm fcr on my Wifes 400ex that I can put on and the potential buyer can hear it run & possibly ride it if cash in hand.

jrspawn- haha soo true. The way you raved about the 03 4spd yz450s is what helped persuade me to buy it. I love the thing, I just never hardly ride anymore.

Greg- Yup... Still have it. Refuse to take any low ball offers or trades on it. Im not forced to sell it or anything, its kinda nice opening the barn and seeing it stashed away sometimes lol
