Tonight I ran down stairs only to find my best bud taking his last breath. He was 10 years old. I love him to death and only with there was still more time. Its been 2 hours now and the tears are still rolling. Its crazy to think you could love a dog so much.

r.i.p.

I had a dog for only 5 years and it was ran over. I loved that old mutt. Can't imagine losing one after 10 years. I bet its almost like losing a family member.

I'm 21 so he was in my life for half of my existence. I had to put my rott down in 09. She was 14. So she was in my life for pretty much as far back as my mind would go. It's hard loosing things you hold so close to your heart.

So sorry for your loss, a dog becomes part of the family and its very hard to see them go.

2 years ago my schnauzer was very ill we had to put her down. She was 15 and I had the dog since I was 7, I balled like a baby.

You never realize exactly how much they mean to you until after they are gone. We had to put my golden retriever/black lab mix down when I was 16. I picked him out when I was 2 and had him until he was 14. I miss him a lot. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to here about your loss. We get attached to these guys and it really hurts to see them go. I see it was a Boxer and I have had 3 and am on my 4th one now, they are great dogs but they have a short lift span,10-12 years. The one I have now is going on 9 years now and I know time is short so I enjoy her as much as I can.

It's never easy to say good bye to an old friend. Dosen't matter if they are human or dog. Butch was part of the family, and he will always be remembered and missed.

I've had some of the best dogs in the world. of the ones that are now gone, I still miss them deeply.

The sorrow does go away in time, and the good memories do prevail. Never forget about your buddy, as you will always know he would always want you to be happy and ready to play.

Sorry for your loss, they are deffinately not "Just dogs", they ARE family members.

Rest in peace Butch.
Your family loves and misses you.

This thread made put a tear in my eye! my little buddy is getting along in years,
and I know im not going to take her loss well!

she is always there for me, and always glad to see me,
only if humans could be as loyal as dogs! I got her when I went through a divorce, she just showed up in my yard one day, when i needed a friend the most! I really think I couldn't have made it without her,
I cant imagine coming home to a empty house,

Im going to take her for a walk and spoil her!
