Well my old balancer bearing went out and destroyed abunch of stuff, so I bought a new bottom end, But i need to figure out the crank/piston combo.

1st setup (pre boom)
86 Bottom end with 89 long rod, 89 piston, NO Spacer plate.

Now I have a 86 bottom end with a stock 86 rod, and a 89 piston.

?? Is do I run the 86 rod and the 89 piston with or without the spacer plate.

I still have the 89 rod and crank and it is almost new, Im just trying to get away from splitting the cases. Thanks

I don't think the short rod and 88-89 (low deck height) are compatible.

Yeah, you won't be able to run the early rod with the late piston; you'll be 5mm too short.

If you want to use the early crank, you need to use the early piston and no base plate.

If you want a base plate motor, then you need the late crank and early piston.
