Just a few questions about LSR Frames. Did they ever make a linkage style swingarm? cause any Lonestar hybrids i've seen all run that 'No-link' style set-up and my not sure if it's really as good as the linkage swingarms/frames that laeger an walsh etc came out with.

Also not sure if this is hybrid specific, but did they ever make a Flip-top subframe?

Reason i am asking is i'm trying to weigh up which frame to go for when i come to build a CRF Hybrid this summer. I would love a Walsh frame but if i can get the same kinda thing for a little less money then i'll definitely consider it.

Thanks for your help.
Matthew

All the lonestars i've ever seen were stock link or no link. never seen a lonestar with a cr500 link or anything of that sort.

Does anyone no how do the 'no-link' set ups compare to the likes of a linkage style set-up?

I would not hesitate to go with a no link frame. They are a very good setup with the shock done correctly. I actually just had this conversation with someone the other day, we both have had linkage style and nolink hybrids. To my surprise we both agreed we prefer the no link. I dont have much time on my current cr500 setup (which I have alot of shock work on ) so we'll see soon how this one does.

i do know the no link is much better in whoops than cr500.

Thats interesting! Maybe i'm wrong, but you really don't see a whole lot of them around anymore. Everybody seems to have switched to the linkage style set up. But i guess it all comes down to how well the shock is dialed in at the end of the day.

I wonder what the pro's and con's of them both would be. I reckon the no-link swingarms would cause some issues with the airbox/intake. Seems as if the shock would get in the way a bit more..

I would like to see sombody have a no link swing arm for a 450r production quad and bring back the no-link setup.

I am converting a lsr 400ex frame to a CRF 450 linkage. I can tell you that you have to lower the pivot bolt down about 1 1/8" and raise. The rear hoop for the upper shock mount quite a bit and either mod the swing arm or by one for a CRF 450 link. I also will be putting 250 plast on it do to gusseting the rear hoop I won't be able to use the 400 ex tank. I will post exact measurements soon.

I believe the Walsh Savior swingarm/linkage setup is such low progression that it basically acts like a no-link.
