yes my fcr has choke pull out on left hand side, doesnt need it for starting and if it did i couldnt get to it any way, any one know if i can remove this? and if so do i block it off or push end off plunger in/ must be a modified bike carb i guess allthough was purchased brand new in england from quad shop over here!
they dont normally use FCR39 carbs them selves reckon they over carb it. normally use 37 but i went for 39 as all u guys do... It is a 440cc runs ok but would like to take it off comments plz,

you prolly have an fcr right off the yz dirtbike....they are just as good as the FCR that most of us use.....just a lil harder to adjust and all

the yz FCR is actually totally different than the FCR most use on the 400ex....they both work the same....but the bodies of them are different....no mold for the choke.....and some other stuff...it will work just as good though....jsut harder to tune....
as far as your flat or dead spot you mentioned.....if it were the regular FCR you adjust that with the fuel screw on the bottom of the carb.....the yz carb im not sure about.

just food for thought..... With the advice of a friend I switched to a needle I got from Yamaha of Troy and it really removed a lot of the WOT blurb and seems to run quite a bit better.... I am not sure of the taper or length but I think it made a world of difference...
Here is the yamaha part #
