We are having trouble with our blaster head leaking around the gasket and the motor is hunting around when it is hot, any ideas on stopping this?? gasket is brass

as long as you are using a new gasket and torquing it to 18 lbs and retorquing after the first heat cycle ...u may need to lap the head to be sure its flat

If its brass it might be a high compression gasket I use some copper coat on mine and got it to seal

be careful with coppercoat. If used too liberally it can wash down the cylinder and actually stick to the piston and cylinder walls. Gasgacinch is better for powersports gaskets and works great on the copper and all other gaskets.

I have been using the MLS (multi-layer steel) headgaskets from Cometic lately with good luck.

But if the head and deck surfaces are not flat, nothing will seal. You need to lap the surfaces as mentioned before. :D
