can someone tell me the bearing part # for the Apex carrier? And would I be able to get them at any local place that sells bearings?

Bearing # 6006

Go to any Bearing Distributor and take your pick from the various Quality Levels I use the Koyo bearings as a default and SKF or Timken if I have the extra cash in my shorts

Seals (For new style Roundhouse carrier)

35mm X 55mm X 11mm on one side

35mm X 55mm X 10mm on other

I buy all mine at Applied

Thank you. Will the bearings fit the old style carrier as well?

The bearings in my DRR old style carrier are the same as the bearings in the Apex Roundhouse carrier. The difference in the DRR is the left Seal has a different inner diameter

Short answer yes, but check the seal sizes. I've never had the old carrier on an apex and don't know the axle style.

I aready had some bearings in the shop. I just found them by accident last night. I guess if you clean the shop now and then, you'll find all kinds of things.

Mark, do you like the 6006-2RS (rubber seal) or ZZ (metal shield)version? I've been using the ZZ style but thought about trying the 2RS.

BTW..........do you have the number for the steering stem bearing handy? I can't find one laying around. Thanks

Todd

Todd

The steering stem bearing seals and Spacer

183207 Seal, Oil 18X32X7 (Upper Seal)
1522015 Spacer, Inner 15x22x'15
223507 Seal, Oil 22x35x7 (Lower Seal)

The Steering stem bearing

600222 Bearing, Ball 6002zz (Need 2)
32000 Clip, Cir. RTW-32 (Need 1)

I've been using the RS on the carrier bearings as well as the steering stem. The number above calls for the zz on the steering stem but the only place I use the steel seal is the bearing that supports the driven gear inside the CVT cover

See you guys in Snowshoe!

Thanks Mark. I've been using the zz shielded bearing just because that's what was in it but i've wanted to swtch to the noncontact sealed verson......figured it would last longer in our race conditions.

We make a little mini vacation out of snowshoe. Zach is going to do the university, he had a great time at it last year. I've got to get to work on the quad. It's completely stripped down and waiting on a couple parts. The tie rod was a little bent.....can't imagine what that was from.
We'll have it ready to rip at Snowshoe so that there is no last lap beating and banging. Zach likes that track. See ya there.
