z400 problems.....weird....need help

Alright I have an 04 z400 with 434 Namura big bore, FCR carb, Piped and Jetted, just around 10-12 hrs on rebuild. Went to Little Sahara this past weekend and the quad ran awesome Friday and Saturday morning....Saturday afternoon 1st and 2nd gear ran awesome but 3rd was cutting out really bad, could barely make it up a dune, but if i shifted to 4th and 5th seemed to run fine... doesn't make any sense to me...Any suggestions

Check the white block behind your shifter check the wires if their good pull it out and use some high grit sand paper and rough it up see if that helps it probably will
