I am trying to find a used cylinder for a 2003 yz125. I'm trying to figure out if other year cylinders will fit, or if I specifically have to get an '03 cylinder. I think 2001-2004 cylinders will fit, but I just want to be completely sure. Thanks.

I believe you are right, are you replacing the bore or the whole jug?

I am replacing the entire jug because it didn't come with one. I have the powervalves and side covers but I need a cylinder and cylinder head. Nothin' on ebay right now :(

See if you can find info about Athena. I paid like 500 bucks for a full head from them ported and everything. That thing started up all the time and was the best money I ever spent.

As much as I would love that, it is a little bit out of my price range. Right now I can get a 134 chrome bore cylinder for $160. Then I would have to buy the head and piston/rings which will probably set me back another $120ish.

The other option is waiting for a junk jug on ebay that will sell for 30-40 bucks and put a sleeve in it (free labor). That would be the cheapest way but the problem is that nobody is really selling cylinders without the powervalves right now.

Decisions decisions.

How can you put a sleeve in a cylinder for free?

I work at a motorcycle repair shop that can do it. I found an '02 cylinder and cylinder head so hopefully by next week I'll be riding :D
