I change mine after every race weekend without one and have never had a problem with either

you dont need a torque wrench, just dont crank the drain bolts down really tight, people tend to overtighten them because of the crush washers. do you have any mechanical experience? not to be rude or anything but since you asked this question it makes it seem like you might not, just make sure you use the correct oil and fill to the right capacity

It's fairly easy to strip the threads in the case. That's why you read everywhere to use a torque wrench. I would recommend it. As far as the transmission oil, you can use the neutral sending unit behind the case saver to drain the oil. It drains about 95% of the oil if you tip the quad on it's side. It's easier to get to than the drain bolt, and far less likely to strip.

I always used Amsoil for motor oil, and Honda red bottle for transmission.

I would invest in a torque wrench. I have stripped mine out and had to re-drill and now use a 400ex drain bolt. I got lucky it held so I just syphon the oil out now and it is a pain. Just a little advice so you dont have to go through it.
