What happened to RTC Products? Does anyone have a clue where I might find a New Set of their Radiator Shrouds?

Found some old threads... Looks like I am... "SOL"

So maybe a better question would be...

Who here out of all you "part makers" can duplicate them and make us some?

Any takers?

Any takers? I tried this a few months ago, if anyone can do it I have access to a pair(not mine) for any measurements that would be needed

I gave up looking for some and ended up getting a pair of sweet looking fourwerx carbon shrouds

I work in a fabshop as a cnc programmer but have been know to jump over to the press brake from time to time. If you could draw me a print or i could use my stock ones for dimensions......bend them up out of aluminum i take it? He a reference thread of some other work i have done.

Not exactly... The RTC shrouds were not your typical flat sided shroud. They were much larger, and had several bends that created a pointed look. Very distinctive design.

Check out this these links. Kyle's build has the RTC shrouds.

Maybe he will be willing to take some closer pictures and get us some measurements so we can resurrect these. I'll shoot him a PM and ask if he might could help us out...

Do you think you could make these?

I hope Kyle (trx250rkid) will not mind me using his picture, but its the only one I could find.

Here is a better picture (close up) of the shrouds, and another link to his build. The pictures showing the shrouds are found on page 14..

http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=211229&perpage=10&pagenumber=14I

If you could make them, I will buy a set, and I am sure there are others on here who would like a set as well..

I can get the measurements im terrible at drawing but, I can get it close with the right measurements, there is also a area that has a clearance for the shocks cut out

the only other thing is there is a half moon in the top and bottom to allow clearance for the shocks

I will get some measurments tommorow for you

how many sets can you make?

I need to get a blank quoted from my laser Guy and will get back on here. Probably end up being .090 6061-t6 aluminum.........

That looks better...

It looks like you still have a 90 deg. brake at the top and bottom bends. If you look at the pictures above.... the top and bottom brake are also angled, "flared"...

Your design would be easier to make, and less costly. I believe in order to get the flare on the top and bottom you would have to have a larger sheet of aluminum, and would have material loss. The excess material would have to be removed, is order to get the final outcome..

Am I thinking correct?

trx750gsxr
04-18-2011, 07:43 PM
There is no material loss when you flat blank develope.

Hey guys,

I will be mounting a stock radiator to mock up and pull dimensions from on monday. Hopefully I should have some bent up by the end of the week. I want to use a stock radiator cuz most of the guys run thoes i assume. Want it to be avialble to everyone tho. If some one had a pwr cooler i would be more then willing to make a set for them free of charge to to see how it would work out and has thoes aviable as well....

I have an AFCO radiator. I believe that shrouds mounted and bent for a stock radiator should work fine.. Can anyone confirm this?

i don't see why there would be any difference between radiators. i had a stock one then switched to a pwr and shrouds still fit

X 2.... .

Just looking for the Shrouds.

The Stock Grill / or Aftermarket Louvers attach to the 4 tabs on the radiator itself, they are separate from the Shrouds that have (3) attachment points.

I have the full rtc setup on mine including the center piece rtc made. If people are interested I d pull them off so you could fab something up. Maybe you could straighten the one side better. Snagged a branch in the woods and bent the shroud a bit. There are pics in my old build. See legendary trx250r build. Hope that helps

I made a set for steve. The didn't fit right so I actually went to his house in Lexington ky and put them on the bike to see what needed to change. I came back to indy changed them and then the upper mount needed to be moved out 1/2" so the top of the shroud would run parallel with radiator. I gave him a number to a guy local that I could call and explain what needed to be done but havnt heard from him since. He never went by my buddies shop.

Think pumashine is getting close...

And its pretty kewl if you have his old style scoops too, just to beable to mount them to the center section..
