ok, so there are a few atv/moto related things that i've thought about lately that i don't know for sure how to pronounce; be it due to hearing it said differently by different people, or never at all. so here are a few off the top of my head:

Laeger's - i'd guess "lay-gers", but a buddy of mine said it "lah-jeers" once.

Leatt - i always assumed it was "lee-at", but the guy at the dealership yesterday said it as "lee-etta".

Rossier - is it "ross-e-air"?

post up anything else you're not sure about!

the reason you hear other people pronounce it different than you is because they don't know how to say it either, haha

i've always wondered about houser.. i've heard both how you say and "how sure." the 'sure' part is more like the jean in jean-claud van damme...if that makes any sense lol. that way just doesn't make any sense to me.

the one thing i have always wondered about is PEP.. is it Pee EEE Pee, or is it simply the word pep?

Everyone always seems to get Akrapovic wrong....

Ak - ra - po - viCH

It's Slovenian... I'm Croatian, it's basically the same language. The "c" is more of a "ch" sound. There should be an accent over the "c".

LOL .... well most words that end in "ier" , are french. In french the I sounds like "E" and the "er" sounds like "Eh"

Rossier and Bombardier are french words .... so it ends in "E... eh"

Shouldn't Bombardier be more like "bom -bar - yay"? I always thought that in french the "ier" ending was supposed to be more like a "yay"

If you're saying it in french then yes you roll the R ..... but you can't really roll an R in english.

And the "ier" sounds like "yay" if you say it fast enough .... but break it down , it sounds like "E-Eh". ;)

Cool. I always find it easy to spot out Yugoslavian names haha... just look for that ___vic(h).

My last name ends in "can".... of course back in the old country there is the upside down chevron over the c, so the ending is pronounced "chan"... when my grandparents immigrated to Canada though, the chevron was lost and the name sounds kinda funny without it.
