So I put a new Motoworks slipon pipe on my 00 400EX and rejetted the carb with a 42 pilot and 170 main and now it idles high. I tried adjusting the idle screw but it didnt make any difference. Any Ideas guys? Thanks.

Throttle cable might to be to tight, that would be a good guess since the screw isnt working. Or the screw is busted (open the carbs plastic oover and make sure its moving inside)

that's gotta be too rich for just a slip on.

i'm running 40/155 with my slip on.

Make sure you don't have any air leaks also.

lol motoworks shoud probably give the tuning another try then.

150, 42, 2.5 turns out on the f/a

cables probably wrapped around inside causing it to not fall far enough.

if your idle doesnt adjust it then something is not right with your cable or your pully system under the black cover.

It would idle up a little but not down. I will check out the throttle cable tonight when I get home. Once I get the idle fixed I will worry about the jetting. Thanks!

which is very close to what i recommend anyway.

a 150 with a slip on and filter is usually good up top.

just depends on the setup i suppose.

Fixed! It was just a loose cable adjuster at the throttle housing. Idles great now. I will have to mess around with the jetting when it gets nicer out. It seems to run fine but I wont know for sure until I put it through the paces. Thanks for the help guys! Now it is time to work on getting my 250R running.

stab the throttle and it will probably stall. that's a big jet for just a slip on.
