Smoking....HELP

I got a 2004 406ex and it sat for about a week and a half and i started it up and when it gets at the rev limiter and just under itll smoke white? Its cold out, enough to see your breath when you breathe soooo could it just be its cold?

maybe just cold or rings . also be careful hittin that revlimit its hard on the engine :)

it was rebuilt like a year ago according to previous owner, seemed like an honest guy...so im guessing its the cold

is it jetted differently for the stock stuff? it could be slightly lean if it is colder outside than usual.

i would be willing to say that it is just moisture though.

Im guessing its just moisture too. Maybe a bit of water go in somewhere, I had my filter off, had a paper towel in there tho but you never know. It actually runs SUPER good

Moisture, this drove me nuts all winter long as mine did the same thing.

Smell it, smells like regular exhaust its moisture, if its more bluish and smells of oil you need rings and if it smells like gas and is black(ish) its too rich.

Its got a little gas smell too it, shoots some fire too. Ill play with the jetting when it warms up and use kehein jets...not the stupid DJ kit that in it. What would you guys recommend for a 406ex w/ FMF PC4 no spark arrestor.
