What is the best gear ratio to run in the tranny for 500 ft drag racing?

We are still playing in the 300' range out here. First 3 races this year have been RAINED OUT!!!!!

sucks cause the boy just wants to go out and ride.

On 50 trans gears we we 20 27 last year for the long tracks. 21 on the front and I couldn't get it to come out of the hole. This year the apex has the 90 tranny and we are going with 19 31 to start at and I have a 20 countershaft sitting in the trailer. Will know more when we get some timed runs down the track.

Actually, I'm looking for the best tranny gear set-up. We have a pretty good sprocket set-up for our track, just lookin if we could improve times with tranny gears.
