Got my 450r shocks in the mail today and went to put them on and they arent fitting. i havnt taken the plastics guard nut off, but it seems like it wouldnt make a difference because the shocks arent even close to hit it....they are too tall it looks like. The stock 400 shocks measure at 16 inches while these boys measure 17 (eye to eye).....

u need to cut the upper mount just a little bit i think it was like a 1/8 in x3/8 piece from each side. u can do it vary easy with a dremel of grinder with the right blade.

Get a rubber mallet... hit outside to in.... then lift the front bumper a foot or higher... and drop it.... do that a few times... and check it.. when i did it... i have to use a chain saw file and just barely file the frame mount holes just a hair or two... they will fit... just be smarter then the shock...

yea i know it might not look it but thats the problem. i have installed 450r shocks 3 times and i am about to do it for the 4th time in a few weeks. and in order to get the holes lined up u need to cut the mounts a little bit or u can take a grinder to the side of the shock a grind it down untill it fit i have heard of people doing that before with out anything going wrong.

along the bottom just as it flattens out is were it need to be cut. unless ur running bigger arms i have never done it with bigger a-arms on
