Motor was running fine, no power loss. Engine bogged and died. Kicked and started up but would bog out and die. Small flame coming out of exhaust. Did a search but didn't cone up with much. Haven't taken anything apart just wondering where to look to start.

Hows your carb look??

Also do you have an electronic throttle control?

FCR carb. Nut sure if it has electric control. The carb is clean. Just cleaned recently

I could be wrong but it seems like a lean condition with the bogging and back firing if its an fcr maybe go up a pilot size and look into a leak jet size 55 and if it isnt go up to a size 50 pilot and my fcr has the plug in but its off an 08 hope this helps ya.

Wasn't necessarily backfiring. There was just a small flame coming out of exhaust when it wasn't running.

Doesn't sound like a fuel issue, if it was running fine. More likely, ignition issue. Ground, maybe stator? :ermm:

I would ck into the two wires on the coil, then look under the hood for any wires bent over/broke at the connector.

Mine had the same problem last week, found a broken wire held on by three strands.

Good luck.

check your timing/valve clearances. stators can do some wierd things too.

Check to see if you have an electrical cable coming out of your throttle housing.

Also check to make sure you dont have more than 1-2/8ths of an inch in play in your throttle.
