So stoked i found this lil gem! Wasn't in the market for an R but i couldn't not take a look at this one.

Full Lonestar frame, arms, stem, swingarm, axle, hubs, CT 310 cylinder, carb, reeds, full bore stics, ahhh soo stoked!

Gonna turn this into the the Nac's looking 250R's, fav quad of all time!

If you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for your 250r. Just wondering what they are going for now.

paid $3,000 for it. Most ones i've found people want like $2,250-2,800 for stock R's, and considering this has everything LSR and full CT kit, and this machine sat for years, I couldn't pass it up.

Yeah I'm so stoked to get the LT, im trying to buy back all my old machines, Kelly was a close friend so to restore his LT will make this
machine that much more special! Riding and wrenching on the 250R today made me feel like I'm 13 again watching Dana in Heuvos 3 on his Nacs bike, so happy I bought both machines!!

I almost called that guy on that quad, its been on C list a while, you gonna race it at all around here? I wanna find some one else to run with for quads, I got alot of work ahead of me with my walsh build and alot of work out to get done so i dont know how well it will go.

I think you should run the national with it in millvill. they should have one class you could run it in.

Im 90% sure i'll be racing that national and the thought did cross my mind, unfortunately as rad as it would be Can-Am takes way to good care of me for me to be performing on anything but a DS. That's not saying it wont be displayed in my pit on a stand!

nice looking machine! they are def fun to ride, I just got mine this past fall and im looking forward to riding it a bit more this summer to supplement the 400. it will mainly be a play machine but will probably see trail use every now and again too. the 400 will come on the longer trips so i dont have to carry oil though lol.

well on the topic, does anyone know what kind of mpg these things get?

thats not gonna be too fun for longer trips. Im hoping for 30 or so but thats quite unlikely. i guess my 40 mpg 400 will be going most of the time lol.

sweet 250r derek you could run a open class with it and do another class or 2 with the ds or does it still conflict with support

Just rode the 310R Derek bought... all i gotta say is Rs are fun but their definitely not a freestyle machine! Would not want to hit a ramp on it thats for sure! haha

just out of curiosity, why not? I figure the fact to how light they are would be a plus! I still see a lot of the free-style dirt bike guys on 2 strokes.

Oh come one... its doable. :D .

As long as you don't mind going into the ramp hoping it hits the powerband. Since the 250r's are not powervavled it makes it harder to ramp them.. the bottom end is jut not there. Plus the way the tranny is setup hitting 65-75ft is 4th gear which means 2 shifts before the ramp.

R is sick though Derek!

anything is doable, its just how bad you want to do it and your mind set when doing... or trying to do it... you do you think TP's first thoughts where when he pulled the double back flip?

Wired

yeah its doable... haha but i'd take a modern day 4 banger or a 2 stroke any day! gotta love that feeling right before a jump on the R... "is this thing gonna kick in or what!?!?!?...... yup there it is, HANG ON!!!!"

I hear ya. Cripes, with my setup, I'm afraid to pull a wheelie because the powerband on it is so sketchy, I'm afraid of that power kicking in and chucking me into the dirt at 30mph.

You're obviously the expert, but I'm thinking that if you were jumping a 250r, it's going to be BIG air. I don't think you would want to do an indoor show in a small arena with a 30-ft gap. I'm thinking 70+ feet, something you can hit with some real speed so you can make sure you're in the meat of the powerband.
