New Yamaha 450 ATV

I have heard it on good authority that a new Yamah 450 sport ATV (pre production type) has been seen here and there. Testing, Being evaluated, etc... There are a few photos of it out there, but I have been unable to get ahold of one.

If you have any info, or photos, please respond....

Please don't guess, or add what you hope they will build. Someone out there knows what's going on, let's hear the news.

I did hear that they should be on the dealer floor before the end of the year. Possibly as soon as June.

I did read this in a magazine: expect a 450cc powerplant, Raptor-like plastic styling but with an all new frame design that's both lighter and smaller than the Raptor's.

We've all known that Yamaha is "working" on it, We've heard that it should be somewhat based on the yz450 motor. The fact that one is out there running around is (as far as I know) really big new news, and it may mean that someone has REAL info on it now, rather than just what we expect it to be.

I'd like to see if it will be setup for more XC racing or MX racing :confused: . Probably XC :macho .

jon i could see you on a predator...i dunno why just seems like somethin you would ride to me. anyways on the yamaha i just hope it doesn't weigh like a million lbs. i'd like to see some technolgy on it like the predator or cannondale instead of the same run of the mill quads that are out now.

It'd be just my luck if yamaha or honda came out with a 450 quad now. I just picked up an 89 250r and am getting rid of my 400ex. I've read the same stuff in dirt wheels about yamaha working on their new quad. I'll bet we see them both before the end of summer.
