i just bought a 04 450r, well its kick start, and when its cold, it starts right up and runs good, but as soon as it warms up, i have to rev it up to keep it running, it wont idle or it will die, and once it does die, its hard to get started again, i have to mess with choke and turn gas back and forth from on to reserve to get it back running. what could be the problem, can anyone help me please. thanks

Check your valve clearances. When it's cold, the clearance may be enough for it to crank good. When it warms up, the metal expands and causes hard starting.

This is a good how-to. It's really easier than it looks.

You will want to buy a shim kit. Hotcams shim kits are on ebay for about $80. You want shims with an OD of 9.48mm. The kit that includes shims from 1.2 to 3.5mm thickness is probably what you will need. You can get the feeler gauges from any auto parts store. Just make sure it goes down to .004 or smaller.

your local dealer might have individual shims, with little money and the right measurements you should be able to adjust the valves, I do recomend picking up a shim kit for future use but If I were you I wouldn't let that keep me from fixing to ride.
the service manual shows how to figure out the right size needed

here is a link for a service manual, wait till the 45 second timer runs down and a download button will appear its a free online manual, dont use the button that asks for payment!a free button will appear after the timer runs down....
