Race gas to pump gas question

I have a 86 250r with a paulturner 265 national motor with a cool head that i raced while racing 450's and even 300's before that.

im out of racing for atleast a little while now and have no other bikes but my 250r. i would like to be able to ride my 250r more often than just when i can afford race fuel so heres my question.

is there any way that i could down tune my national motor to run pump?(such as changing the dome in the cool head?) or will doing this still result in detonation of the motor?

I tried calling duncan racing but of course they aren't open on mondays so i figured i would try here also.

Changing the dome should be enough. When you talk to Duncan, they'll probably tell you it that it won't run well on pump gas (that's what they told me), but it should be just fine.
