My scott sand goggles are pretty much getting worn out-shame too cause I love them. But they dontmake the 89XI sand anymore. I ride in sand pits/dunes alot, so the goggle must not let in the particles of junk if possible.

Was looking the following:
-thor ally

-thor enemy sand

-oakley crowbar sand (many said it fogs up to easy?

-oakley o-frame sand

-scott recoil dust/sand

Anyone use any of those and got opinions? About all I want is something that wont let sand it and doesnt fog up to easy. The scotts hardly fog every, but are so worn out by now the fleece is flaking off.

I would check out Steel MX goggles....

I have tried almost all the major brands, and I always go back to my Steel MX

I recently switched from the oakly o frames to fox mains. I like the comfort of the mains but holy smokes does dust leak into them a ton.

In phoenix we have nothing but dust and its really not too awful bad but i never had that problem with the oakly sands. but i have a really small face apparently and they were just uncomfortable, so ill deal with a little dust on the inside.

I havenot however had anything more than reallllllyyyy fine dirt penetrate it and have never had them fog up, they also breathe really well somehow.

You were using just the regular O-frames TheLane or the sand version?

FWIW my scotts hardly ever fogged up, and I almost never got sand in them. Im still bummd they dont make them anymore.

Scott Hi-Voltage III (they don't make them anymore) or Scott Hi-Voltage Pro-Airs are the only goggles I will even fool with.

I like Spy Magnetos. They have a really big lens so you can see out of your peripherals really well.

yeah its brutal, the big thing ive found out here that if your goggles dont breathe they fog up from sweat....but if your goggles breathe too much you get dust...its tough finding a happy medium.

another vote for Spy here. I love em. I even use them for snowboarding. The comfort, quality, and price just makes too much sense to not buy them.

check out http://www.chainlove.com/

They have discount mountain bike stuff but mountain bike guys use the same gloves, goggles, etc. as mx riders. I bought my Spy Magnetos for $25 shipped.

scotts with quick straps since they are cheap and work well. you can get the combo on dennis kirk for something like 45 bucks or something. If i wanted to buy some decent ones i would buy oakleys or 509s.

i like my oakley snowboard ones alot but i dont think i could bring myself to spend that kind of money on goggles.

I also like my spies i picked up this winter. they dont work well on my snowmobile helmet but they seem to be great otherwise. if i can get them sealed correctly, they are decent in my snowmobile helmet too until i stop, then i have trouble with them fogging.

I swear by the Oakley Crowbar MX goggles. Mine never fog up and I ride in dunes with pretty fine grain sand and never have a problem. I'll never run any other goggle.

I personally like the scott hi volt III's but they've since been replaced with the voltage pro air's I believe.

I bought some dragon vendetta goggles over the winter and after about 10 rides they are still holding up great. Really thick foam around the eyes. I also bought some ion all weather lenses for a replacement and the lenses them self have little vents that havent let any dirt or sans threw yet.

Looking over everything its a real toss up, oakley crowbar or o-frame, the thor and spy all look really nice. Gotta run off and try them at the store if possible.

Anyone run a specific lens other than clear? Im running a light gray right now thats good for bright sun but so so for contrast. Looking over oakleys site (they have a really nice sample image that changes when you pick a lens) I think an amber/rose colored one would work best for the dunes/sand and some woods im in alot. Its a tough call cause I rather not spend tons of money finding what lens I like then be stuck with the others. Thoughts?

Really appreciate everyones input, threads like these are good since everyone contributes and explains thier reasoning imho.

for darker or flatter light, yellow is the way to go.

I like my red oakley lenses in my sunglasses though, it helps out the light alot for all conditions it seems.

i like clear though myself, i ride in too many conditions to have different colors all the time. lol

not much help there...

I mean I got the grey/smoke now in my scotts, it works good for bright conditions but if I fly into some shady spots it can be hard to see.

I think Im gonna go with maybe a blue or an amber or maybe both IDK.

To many damn choices!

Im using spy targa goggles with a blue lens and i REALLY like them.
They seem to fit nice for me plus the blue lens seem to make everything brighter so there nice for riding in the woods.
