View Full Version : Loose Rear Hubs???????

How do you guys keeps the rear hubs tight.I have to tighten ours after every race.Do the hub splines wear that fast?thanks

did you put the pins in the axle on our dominator axle thers no washer but on our stock and durablue axle take a washer anut then cotter pin

Stocker type hubs will still loosen up,i make my own washers to shim out when i run out of tread.

I run a nylon washer the the nut and pin works well have to change about every 5 races.

It's a durablue axle and stock hubs.The nuts are not coming loose.Is there an aftermarket hub for these little bikes?

If someone like Lonestar would produce a hub they'd get paid!
Sure wish DRR would step up like Apex on this.

red gel lock tite is what we use on all our race bikes ! Sprockets, hubs, you name it don't want any thing to come lose.

Put lock tite on the splines and then slide the hub over it?

The stock hubs just seam to wear out so the nut has to be thightend every so often,hence the shim when you run out of tread on older Apex axels.Hopefully the hubs on our new Apex will be better.You can get a glance of them in the link.

YES I do that on all of our race bikes it's a Harley trick to keep from stripping splines!

hey how did the locktite work out..we have the same deal...i asked while back at the and they said its normal for getting loose and having play...so i aint fooled with it since.

Have not tried it yet because we ain't been racin but i will be gettin the bike ready for this weekend coming so i will let you know how it worked out.
