Big Gun Eco slip on or HMF Sport slip on

I have a hmf on my 07 400ex i like it but its very loud. i like the big gun eco system its low price and iv heard it sounds decent. could anyone tell me if i should replace my hmf for the big gun or will it sound to quiet cause i still want to have some sound behind it but not as loud as it is now

I have an HMF and I am sick of the sound (noise) that it produces and the quiet core sounds like crap. I am playing with inserts to obtain a mellower but good sound. Sorry I can't give you any info on the Big Gun, but I am right there with you about the HMF.

Really I don't think there's a big different in exhaust except which color you like :D I mean they're all going to sound loud except for fmf maybe.

glad im not only one man cause at first i liked it but kinda hard to ride it out of town with out waking some one :o and yeah i think the eco puts out about 96 to 98 is what i saw anyways

I have had a hmf and have a big gun evo r right now and the big gun is quiet compared to the hmf but the big gun also sticks out right beside the wheelie bar which I don't care for but overall they are way quieter and smell like mcdonalds while your breaking in the new packing :)

Thanks for help im gonna go with the big gun i think once i get the hmf sold. Does it still sound prettty good louder than stock?

Yea it's louder than stock. But at idle it's not to much louder but mid to full throttle it is louder.

I'm also debating on which one to get because I really like the look and sound of the HMF but at the same time the Big Gun is cheaper and sounds pretty good as well without putting out to many decibals. The only thing I don't like about the Big Gun is that it looks like it sticks out pretty far but thats not a big issue.

I also found this video of the Big Gun Eco Slip on and it sounds pretty cool.

Thanks RNL. And @ quadrider mines the evo so idk bout the Eco but I'm sure there prolly about the same but the hmf on world wide performance.com is like 265 shipped that's where I got the red one in the above picture. Also I would go ahead while I was at it and get some header gaskets so you can take your headers off and grind the welds even tho mine wasn't that bad but ever bike is differnt.

Found this old article about a Big Gun on a 400ex........seems a bit exagerated but anyways........................

"bet you are all wondering how it performed on comp hill aren't you? Well I had me a race or two and had some great results! One of my riding buddies has a very clean and fast Honda 250R which he uses to whip up on me at comp hill. Not this time buddy! I was able to outrun him to the top! We also drag raced on the flats and this time it was he that was looking at the back of me. The 250R would eventually out run me but it took 800 yards and a sixth gear to do it. Sweet! The power and acceleration were definitely improved and I frequently was being held back by the rev-limiter. Top end was improved as well. Dunes that I could just barley pull in third gear I run up with ease. Be careful, you might just get to the top a little faster then you expect."

Yeah iv decided on the Eco big gun im gonna get it with in the next week and have it on soon so I will post and let you guys know what I think anyone interested in hmf just pm me
