hey guys i've been doing a lot of hill climbing as of late...and i'll say that i think a +2 would be a great mod for my ride now. the only thing i'm worried about is what is that going to negativly effect?

some of the hills are a lil hairy and i think that the +2 might help with a little bit more stability. or would i need to go bigger to even see a difference?

You won't be able to turn as sharp as before...

NOT AS MUCH TRACTION

less traction and a smaller turning radius...hmm

how much more stable do you think it would make the bike? as far as hills go, is it going to effect power sliding? do you guys think it's not a good idea if i ride a lot of trails still too?

IF YOU ARE TRAIL RIDING YOU DOU NOT WANT IT MUCH LONGER THAN 1". THE LONGER ONE WILL HELP ON THE HILLS.

so would it even be worth my time to go with a +1?

+2 would be alot harder to ride weelies. If you like doing that.

+1.25 is still pretty easy to turn and handles well on trails/dunes. Great for jumps too, the rear end doesn't dive as much as it did with the stocker. I've climbed some reasonably steep hills it is much better than stock stability wise. Never ridden a +2 but +1.25 is great. Riding wheelies isn't a problem.

I've ordered a +4 but it won't be in for about a month but when it comes in I'll let you know how it does.

yeah i noticed that a lot with the stock swing arm length..it dives a lot hehe. at first i thought it was mainly just me, i'm still not that great in the air. but i meen jumping a few feet, but ussaly it's at the top of a hill hehe. also i like to ride wheelies up hill and a longer swing arm would help with that too.

hmm well what do you guys think about having a swing arm extended? i don't do a whole lot of jumping but i do ride pretty hard on the trails and stuff. is it worth my time and money to take it to someone to extened it? is it very durable?

Everyone I talk to in the dunes tells me to go with a +4 but that I won't be able to ride trails any more.

I was thinking of going with a +2 when I save up a bit more money.

if u are trail riding or MXing, +2 is prob. overkill. after i put a 1 1/4 on mine, i can stick to ALOT of hills and dont have t oworry about the front end coming up. I recommend a +1 1/4, its a happy medium. And a +2 swingarm will not allow u to ride wheelies as good becuase it changes the balance poit on the quad. Pretty much it makes the front of the quad heavier. And yes u will lose traction too. Becuase it woul dbe like sitting on the front of your seat the whole time with a stock swingarm. And yes your turning radius will prob. suck. I noticed i lost a TINY bit with mine, but def. wouldnt want to lose anymore. Just some things to think about.

I think the 1 1/4 over makes a pretty good differnce going up hills. I wouldn't go any longer unless i lived by some dunes. In the sand its alot easier to get traction.

yeah i think 1.25 is probably the best route then.

so what do you guys think about having the stocker extended? does the quality ussaly just reflected by the person who welded it?

anyone have a pic of a 1.25? probably not much visably longer though..alright though thanks for the info guys.

i would just buy a new one. I personally wouldnt trust cast aluminum that is re-welded. Especially on such a high stress component like a swingarm. Plus they have to be PRECISE cuase if they are a little off then u will start throwing chains, and possibly go through wheel bearings.

11/4 over.

Buy a new one. Notice all the gussets on the laeger swingarm. There on there for a reason.

yeah hehe that laegers is pretty teets hehe. but they're so spendy and i don't ussaly see 1 1/4 on like ebay and stuff, i'll prooly have to get a brand new one...but i think that new front shocks are in line before that unfortantly hehe. i think that would be a lil more important upgrade for me.

now to find good reasonably priced fronts. my buddy just got some works tripple rates w/o rezi for like 300 dollars for his banshee. i think i might have asked this before but are rezis really worth it if you don't race? correct me if i'm wrong but all it does is lets the oil cool down a little better right?

Rezzies help it cool. Sometimes you can find some ohlins off a cannondale for sale but the nice thing is on both, is you can get them revalved the way you want them and you can add rezzies if you find them on ebay.
You can find powdercoated laeger swingarms for around $550, New.

Heres a +2 on my 400 a while back. It still slid perfectly fine, but nothin like the -2 thats on now.

yeah lol i wanna ride a 400ex or a banshee with a negative swing arm! that would be nuts on like a gravel road hehe. i think TT could be pretty fun but damn just watching some of it on the huevos movies looks like it gets pretty hairy.

damn 550 tho? if i didn't have to fix my truck i'd get a new swing arm and some new shocks with my tax return. nothing like claiming 0 all year so you get 1200 bux back in feb. meks me smile hehe..
