Here's my situation... I have two setups, both identical except for the frames. I've talked to Mark about this before, but he states the Laeger subframe should be direct OEM specifications. I've read that dtowndiesel trimmed his seat on his Lobo, but it's still a bear to wrestle into the rear seat post holes. Both bikes have Full Bore Plastic, OEM seats, Clarke Tanks, and AC Grab Bars.

See the pics... Does anyone else have this problem with their Laegers, or any other aftermarket frames? On the other hand, my Aren's bike is snug but easy to put the rear plastics on. The green/white bike is the Aren's, white/red bike is a Laeger.

Thanks in advance for any feedback!
Dan

Hmmmmm That grab bar fitment is interesting..... I had seat fitment problems around the tank area with my Arens Frame, but the grab bar had plenty of clearance around the rear plastic...

I forget what grab bar I was using but it had plenty of clearance..

I dont have any close up pictures, but you can see the gap in the seat and the grab bar clearance in these pictures...

That grab bar would be good for my Laeger, does it have a flag mount?

The Arens bike is fine, it's the Laeger which I don't understand. When I spoke to Mark, he said all frames basically used the same jig. Then the subframes were built around the frame... I think if the subframe was .25" longer, it would be perfect fitment and I wouldn't have to wrestle it on there.

With my 3.6 IMS tank I eggs shaped the holes and moved the tank back closer to the seat, worked perfectly to close up the gap... just a suggestion. I haven't got that far with my laeger to be able to tell a difference....

Troy, I have a feeling you will encounter this. It has nothing to do with the tank, more so the subframe. I guess I could make myself a rear seatlatch and it will solve the problem. Just need to relocate the posts about .25" forward and it will be an easier fit.

I'd be curious what you are experiencing once you are at this point.

I know where your at...I am having this issue with my laeger 300exR. I ordered fullbores the same time you did and got them on the quad recently. The fitment at the seat is just like yours with the gap and it seems the the front fenders need to mount an inch taller at the front mounts to look right by eye. I will be making some new front fender brackets. You know my setup...laeger 88-89 geometry chassis for the atc350x engine. Stock tank, 88-89 seat pan, full fender full bores. It seems like the 86-87 pan fit the tank better??? I will be throwing that seat back on soon to double check if there a difference for me...

Both of my seats are the 86-87 style, with the metal bolt on bracket. I'll see what I can come up with on the rear seat latch.
