Where to look for dirt bikes for sale?

I've been on craigslist. I'm looking for a blown up 250 four stroke dirt bike, crf250r, yz250f, etc. I don't know of any websites or forums to look at. Any help, or do YOU have something to sell??

When Im looking for stuff I usually make a post on CL with a WTB, got stuff a few times this way.

searchtempest.com seems to hit all of craigslist and hits ebay for the most part.
i have been using it for a while, at least since craiglook.com went down. :( that was a great site. too bad craigslist sucks like that, they wanted it closed down.

Haha....everyone looking for a two stroke dirt bike now including me! I think I may have found a nice 98 kx 250. asking 1800 for it though.

Yeah craigslist is your best bet. Craiglook was soooo good, I cringe every time I have to use craigslist. Just keep looking and you'll find something.

I notice you are in maryland, so you could check out http://classifieds.pennswoods.net/classifieds/index.cgi
There are some on there every once in a while but you may have to travel a little bit.

I used craigspro on my iphone to expand my search. I found the perfect bike, just waiting on a reply. Still looking though, you never know.

everybody pretty much nailed it, but pennswoods has become increasingly popular up here and I've sold quite a few things through them. Craigslist is good too.

Yea, I'm having a hard time. Ill find something just posted, call the number, no answer, no return calls ever. Either that or its been sold, or people want $1300 for their blown up bike worth $1500 if it didn't need rebuilt!!

I bought a 2000 KTM 250exc a few weeks ago off of CL for $1600 I love that bike!! It is perfect for me in the woods!

Is it just me or are people insane on their prices. I've got ads on CL around me for like a 98 or 99 cr250s for 2k plus. One kid has a nice 97 Cr250 and he wants 2,600 or trade for a 06 and up 450! :rolleyes:

You're right, its because people go around telling b/s stories of good deals they got because they know they got ripped off but want to make people think they are good at getting deals or something who knows.

I see half decent 125's for 1200-1400, ones that are blown up for 600-700, NOT WORTH IT!! If you need a sleeve you will have 350-400 in parts plus labor. Plus all the other things they don't tell you about I buy things blown up, fix them, ride them, sell them. What I LOVE to do. I used to find deals in an hour, LOL. I bought an '86 rm125 for $50 last year. Needed a good bit of work but I still only have $400 in it, rode it for 6 months then sold it for $600. But I have more money to work with now so I'm looking for something nicer.

I've looked at 5 bikes in the past 2 days. It's all the same thing, it blew up, they took it apart, lost a bunch of parts, want too much, and only one had a title.
