Cylinder Troubles.

Ok guys, i got rid of my junk YFZ and got another 400ex.the guy i bought it off of was in the process of replacing the top end. I put the piston in the cylinder and now i cant get the cylinder (like the bottom of the sleeve) to go down in the motor.. ?? Is there something i am missing. The timing chain/guides are out of the way, the rings are fully on. It acts like it is too fat. But its the same size as stock, heck its even the stock bore.

never mind guys i got it, Now i have a new question.. My timing chain guide is broke. The one on the exhaust side of the head that has the nipples on it where it sets in the top of the cylinder.. I found one for $40, is that about as good as the price gets or does anyone know of a cheaper on??

Bout the going price, I wouldnt buy one unless it was new-might as well replace the other guide if its damaged looking too and the timing chain itself-cause I betcha its stretched.
