Ok guys I bought this quad:

http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=449444

I am going through the quad and fixing the very botched engine installation. My problem is I dont know what parts go in the swingarm. I cant get the spacing right on the swingarm. If you have a laeger yz quad I am begging you for help!! I need to know what bearing go in it, and what was used to fix the spacing !! I am kinda in a hurry so if you know please help!!

Thanks,
John

PS pictures would really really help me !!

bearings should be stock 250r. post some pics of what you are trying to do. also you need parts for that motor? i have tranny, counter balancer, shift shaft etc cheap. was told it was for 06 yfz. got screwed.

I dont believe the bearings are 250r, they are the same size as the YZ450 kit I bought. I cant figure out what caps go on the swingarm, if i put the steel sleeves in that came with the kit, and the aluminum spacer in the clearances are all correct. But the problem is theses aluminum spacers do not fit in the swingarm. I have been in contact with the real laeger, and he doesnt remember what he used in the arm.

I'm going to go against everyone here and say 98 yz400 kit is what your bike uses.

i have a 400 and 426 dirt bikes with no motors in them so i can measure the bearings if needed. i guess if laeger used the dirtbike swing arm bolt then you would need those. gibson used all stock 250r and just made a sleeve to go through the motor. it was much easier to keep everything stock motor and frame.

The bearings are 100% dirtbike bearings. My delima comes in with the spacing. The YZ bike swingarm installs the bearings, then the thrust bearings go on top of those, the a seal to close it all up and spacer(aluminum), the dirtbike bearings fit in the swingarm, but the seal, the thrust bearings, and the spacer do NOT fit. When I took it all apart there was a dust cap that had the thrust bearings in it, but nothing to take up the spacing. after measuring the spacer(i bought a YZ bearing kit), i put the thrust bearing, and the thrust washer, and the dust cap together, measured that thickness, subtracted it from the thickness of that spacer(it cannot be used in the swingarm), went to the hardware store found a washer to take up the spacing and keep the pivot sleeve properly spaced and called it good, i have no movement, and everything is tight. I would just like to know what really went in the arm. so if anyone has a laeger YZ quad would you mind sharing whats in there?

I would really like to know what these dust caps came off of, there is a part number on the caps k4877 but I cant find anything on google.

i think your using the 426 setup, which is different then the yz400 you need to check that out.. Like I said its 98 yz400

i just double checked, and you are using the 426 setup which is wrong you'll see the 400 has different endcap that will fix your problem.

wish i had thought to use the dirtbike setup cause the 250r bolt is a ton of money. but originaly i modifyed a 250r swing arm before making them from scratch

I have a laeger yz chassis and i had a similar issue when replacing the bearings and hardware.......the 98 yz400 has some different parts then the 99 yz400 or 426......98 has caps the bearings go into where the 99 does not and the spacers are different lengths for both years also.....if you run into anymore replacement issues just let me know.....been there done that after owning laeger yz chassis for 10 years.
