So i took my Outlaw out for the first time a couple weeks back. I will never buy another dirt bike again. The handling and IRS was awesome. However, there was a lot of mud and i have stock tires. I know this is not a 4x4 and i don't plan on sinking it but need some tires that will paddle through mud good and ride smooth on trails. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Your going to want to go up in tire size (maybe a 20-21)and run lower tire pressure in the mud, and slightly higher in the sand. That will help a lot.
For dirt im a big fan of the maxxis razr series, they grip really well no matter what your doing, and they have a few different series of em that are all very similar but fit your budget.
ps: welcome to the polaris world! its a hard world, but a good world.

so far i blasted thru the stock tires in 4 rides, 3 flats plugged the first day out. on my warrior i put holeshot hds. they were great, good wear out of them n no flats. i put them on my 2010 outlaw n they did pretty well. the power of the machine eats up whatever tire your gonna put on it. they lasted me just about the whole season with only 1 puncture through the sidewall and that was from flyin thru some extremely rocky trails. i ride in pa and theres a good mix of rocks, coal mud, sand n dirt. through the mud they did ok. everything else no problem.
my next set i will be ordering are the maxis bill balance razr ms04. i think being that the Xs are a little bit more spaced out and bigger, will def grab a better hold thru some mud.
hope this helps.

I've been looking at the SP Mud lites that are 20x11x9. I still have stock tires with the paint stripe all the way around. Tires only have about 20 hrs on them and still have plenty of tread. I love the mud but can't convince myself to sell the Outlaw and buy a 4x4 so figured i would get something that will push mud better. I seem to get stuck in some of the shallow holes more than anything. Anyone have good luck with the Mud Lites. I'm in Alabama and most of our trails are more mud than anything. if i can't tell how deep it is i stay away from it.

What is the biggest tire you can put on the back of a 2006 Polaris Outlaw. I'm looking at some 22x12x9 Bearclaws. Will these fit or would the 20x11x9 Mudlites be best?

I called and asked one of our local dealers and he said he wasn't sure so thanks, i ordered a set of SP mud lites in a 20x11x9. I hope they help out some, they were only 149 shipped and should be here around Wed

So i got the mud lites and tested them out last night. They definitely grip the mud and spin until they hit solid ground. I got stuck in a creek but tried to make my on trail so i figured that would happen. As far as ruts, mud and roots these things were great. They do ride a little rough on the dirt roads though. Overall for 149.99 you can't beat it.
