looking for an esr or similar setup.
THinking of purchasing an ESR setup also, but I can't tell what the price is. 499 on sale, but then you have to choose a porting? or is that extra porting and I can purchase it for 499?
I beleive they offer unported jugs, or for additional dinero serveral porting options.

by unported does that mean that they have some porting cast into them? Is the 100 bones for the trx7 extra porting. I'm curious how they would perform without any extra porting, and is the porting they do for 100 bucks worth it? or should I have someone else do it.
Alot of people buy them unported then send them out for more specialized porting. Some dont care for ESR porting. If it was me, i would get one unported and send it to Neil for porting how you want it and your setup.

Yes, they do have the ports there cast into them, the cylinder is indeed ready to run, and it will still make good power and be very fun to ride.
The "porting" will just add extra power. It's cutting away a few millimeters here and there (the thickness of a piece of cardboard box, or about 40 pieces of paper), change a few angles, and it dramatically affects the power delivery of the engine.
From a standard un-ported 310, expect 35 or so horsepower (maybe 40 depending on elevation, pipe, ect). A good ported 310cc set up for your riding style is easily 40hp, probably closer to 45 (up to 50, depending on elevation, pipe, ect). It's a night-and-day difference, and definitely worth the money.

That's what I did, except I went with a pro x jug and Neil's a good guy to work with.

Snacob, I'm thinking about selling mine. Its a 310 on its first bore, piston is in great shape. It had the TRX-9 porting, I've had it for two years.....it has low hours. Only reason I'm thinking of selling is to go bigger. PM me if you're interested.............
