Why do alot of the race engines run a 250x piston?

i believe they have greater compression. i know that wiseco's 300 piston is 11.1 and their 250x piston is 12.1

Its also a lighter piston allowing it to rev faster. Couple that with a heavy low end cam and it will pull very hard.
