H6 snow jump coming along nicely!!

alright boys we did some extensive work on the snow booter today and she's turning out real nice! here's the measurements of the beast. the jump stands about 10 feet high, 22 feet long with a gap of 60 feet right on the nose and the landing is a great size of 45 foot long that stands around 10 feet tall also. we had the loader skid steer and sleds packing it down consistantly today. we put about a good 3 hours into it with a few hundred gallons of water put on the jump. its more less a huge ice ball right now. i can hopefully get the groomer tomorrow to work on the landing a bit more and form the jump a bit better. she's lookin real nice! i'll get pics tomorrow but for now i'll post the pics ive already posted to give you guys a good idea on what it looks like. oh and if you guys dont already know, its going to be featured in huevos 6. filming starts next week :devil remember now these pics are of just the bases of the jump and landing. we formed them up quite a bit today so it looks like an actual jump finally. looking good so far? what ya think?

the only pile of dirt there was my landing for my ramp and i burried it under my new snow landing and its a good 5 feet higher then the dirt top. this thing is huge! bigger the better :macho

jon, why dont u build a backflip jump in the face of the landing and try the backflip there, seems safer, or is it harder than dirt when its packed? or just get some powder and flip into the powder like some of the bike guys first were

lol swap is actually just a local class A motocross rider. he's a good $hit. he's good friends with my older brother and they came out to help build the jump. getting speed wont be a problem. its going to be packed so hard it should almost be like ice and we're going to be running studded tires. the jump is at my place here near wabasso minnesota. ive had alot of people ask to see if they could watch while we film. im going to ask wes tomorrow if he doesnt mind, and if its ok i'll let everyone know.

alright i just got back from takin 2 quick pics of the snow jump. its really startin to take shape. two more nights of hard work and it should be done. the snow looks a little dirty around the jump and landing but thats actually frozen slush. we watered it down pretty good and its harder then a rock right now! just the way i wanted it! alright boys, think its lookin better???

sounds nice, its hard to picture a snow jump that big, maybe cause we dont get a ton of snow around here, we just got 14" and thats the most we've had since i've remembered

we actually are way behind on snow fall this year. usually you can even see the bushes on the south side of my jump cause they're burried under snow. i got enough to work with though.

just realized something, if i flat land this jump it will be over 110 feet :eek:

doesnt it piss you off when you think too hard about something??? here's my story for the day... here i am thinking how i can put water more efficiently on my jump, instead of sitting out there for hours with a garden hose. ok so i think about getting a large ammount of water at one time like a huge water trailor and spray the thing down in 5 mins. but then i got to thinking it would screw up the face of the jump if that much water his snow... well all this thinkin went by when all of a sudden i thought about putting a simple garden water sprinkler on the end of the hose. this ever happen to anyone else?? sometime ya just think to hard to figure out the simplist equation. lol :blah

one more thing to note, i just climbed to the top of the jump with the loader we have. its a 4250 tractor with front mount loader on it. she's heavy and the base is sooo packed i just climbed to the top without sinking through. i think its working nicely :devil

yea it got to 50 degree's today and pretty much made a mess of everything, but its suppose to snow from tomorrow till monday and i have big piles of snow yet from cleaing out our yard. so it will happen even if i have to haul in snow for the jump. i'll put in over time working on if i have to. i just got word today that atvsport will be possibly doing an arcticle on my snow jump. this is getting a little bigger then planned but i'll take care of it. :macho
