personally ive heard better things about the hondas then suzuki's. i was thinking of buyin one awhile back and i was kinda leaning towards the honda anyways. either way i think you'll be fine....HONDA

Honda 125's are pipey and hard to keep on the power. Suzukis are good though

Personally id go with either a yz or a later ktm.

I'm 6'1 and fit fine on my CR125s.

From what I've read, late YZ125s and KTM SX125 (and SX144s and SX150s) are supposed to be the best.

In all honesty though, they are all about equal.... just go with the best condition, cheapest bike you can get.

from the spec sheet i seen the cr125 seat is 1 inch higher than the cr250r. the bike size wise is just about the same but i think you'll get tired of the 125 pretty soon but maby you won't:)

YZ's are some of the best bikes. In my opinion, have a nice seat feel and the power is always nice and broad with a decently hard kick. You can't go wrong with them.
And reliability with the yammie's is not an issue.

But for the most part, almost all the 125's are solid. Pick a color and which powerband feel you like more, and wah-lah.

I'm 6' 1" and 220 pounds and my old 125 use to rip me around the track no problem.:macho

The problem with Honda is that they like to update their bikes and let them get stale for years. Yamaha always has a newer improved model every year. Same with RM. They were great bikes from I believe 03 and up.
If you don't have the cash try to get a 02 or 03 Yz125. They were the second best years.

Hasn't the current YZ250 been the same since like 2005 or 2006? I think for the 2011 model year the only changes they made where to put the european silencer on the bike so they can sell the same exact bike worldwide.

Again the fact that they are still producing a 2-stroke is better than what their other Japanese competition is doing.

My favorite 2-stroke though has got to be a KTM 250XC-W or 300XC-W.... one day I will own one.... one day. Also would like an 00-01 CR250!

They have had small changes throughout 06 and up. The 05 suspensions was not up to par.

An 00 or 01 cr250 is on my list for next. Almost picked up a 2000 cr250 for 900 bucks the other day.:ermm:

They pretty much did all they can with the YZ250 aside for direct injection. My brother has a 2010 for his race bike and the thing is amazing.
