Not knowing anything about the Banshee or the 250R that is part of the trade, here is my opinion on both quads, since I have owned both of them.

Basically, they are two different animals and personal preference will play the biggest role.

I mostly race MX, and started on stock Banshee. Added pipes and had to decide between building a MX 250R or modding the Banshee for MX. I choose the 250R road.

A Banshee is a lot of fun to ride and can be made to be a decent MX machine but mod for mod, the 250R will out handle the Banshee. (will not get into the jumping difference due to weight, 250R wins easily).

For the little bit of trail riding I did, the Banshee was OK.
Drag racing...only thing holding the Banshee from killing is your wallet.
Playing in local sand pits, it is a toss up. Banshee was fun to play and comfortable but when on my R, I only wanted to see how fast I could push it.

Last year I finally sold the Banshee. Miss the "fun" factor but it never got used and we hated it on the MX track compared to an R, especially a Walsh R.

i have owned both also. banshee = double trouble!! the 250r is by far a better handling machine in my opinion.

Yeah...the "2 of everything" got old quick. But quickly forgotten when you hit the thumb throttle!

Real question is Honda or Yamaha.... Honda for sure.

Honestly it depends on what you are wanting do. What style of riding and areas do you plan on riding?

I need to beat my friends shee haha Yea,going in a straight line is booring!Go head up on a track,XC or desert coarse and you will rip him a new one!In my book, there is no comparison.250R kills it.And another important factor, the R looks much better. After all these years and all the quads ive owned,TRX is still the one to look at.I guess I never cared for the banshee when it came to handling and looks.

This question always comes up, how does a (insert quad of choice here) compare to a Banshee? When everyone uses a Banshee as the benchmark, you've got to wonder why...

I have a 250R and a Banshee and I love them both, but for different reasons (just like sangheraent). It all depends on what you're looking for.

Indeed. Nobody compares their quad against a Yamaha Warrior or Kawasaki Mojave. People don't use second place as the benchmark.

Yes, you can get a 250r to beat a banshee in a drag race, but what's the point? You lose everything that "is" the 250r, great handling, suspension, ergonomics, and in-flight mannerisms. It becomes a straight-line machine, it becomes a banshee.
