okay, I have a practice at the track on sunday and need to get this jetting figured out.

I have an 05 with an 04 crf450r FCR carb on it, engine mods are: HRC cam, ported, UNI filter, wiseco High com piston (not sure on the ratio), dynatek ignition and a motoworks exhaust

jetting right now:
pilot jet 48 - plug is nice light tan after about 10mins of idle

main jet 175 - cant do a plug check, but if feels pretty good.

air screw, 3 turns out.

what do you guy's think???
thanks in advance.

you just said in your other post robinson that you have a 05 with 05 carb, totally different. TJS-your jetting seems pretty close, the main should be fine, the pilot i would drop to a 45 maybe. run a 55 leak jet and 2.5 out on the fuel screw, the pilot circuit seems like it would be really rich on yours with 3 turns and a 48 pilot

I had a 45 pilot in it 3 turns out on the fuel screw, when I let it idle for about 10mins the plug was snow white.
but, it is still pretty cold out right now, it was about 50 yesterday....

forgot to mention that my airbox lid is off...

if I am riding full throttle, and I let off back to an idle and the revvs dont fall back down to idle that means the pilot is lean correct?

im guessing it is the needle, I need to drop the clip down one....

it could also have an air leak between the carb and engine or the carb itself might have an air leak, 48 pilot with 3 turns out shouldnt even be close to being lean at all

no air leak, I checked. but could it be the dynatek CDI? I remember reading somewhere that it could cause this?

it goes back down to idle, but it takes 3-5 seconds

could a lean needle cause that?
