So last weekend at sleepy my buddys 07 kept crapping out on the track. It idles perfectly fine and if you rev it real slow but when you get on the gas it just dies like someone pulled the teather out. We were working on it yesterday and i tried everything: new spark plug, my new cdi off my practice quad, valves are all in spec, cleaned the carb, and still nothing. The same thing happened to my 05 when i put my new race motor in this year and it was the cdi.Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

Thanks in advance

You might not have the right jet in it, the plug could be bad or needs a valve adjustment. First check all the wiring though.. could be as simple as a loose connection.

jetting should be 170 main, 42-45 pilot, 2 1/2 turns out on fuel screw, i use a OBEKR needle, 55 leak jet and the AP mod. the 55 leak jet and AP mod are the most important for the bog

I'll give it a shot when I go over there tonight for the 2 and a half turns on the screw do I go all the way to the right first or is it reverse threads?

sounds like dirty carb.

did you take carb apart and clean with carb cleaner and an air nozzle?

bad ground connections can cause strange issues also

i dont think that the quickshot really does anything, if you have your jetting setup properly then you should not need the quickshot, it was mainly designed for the very first FCR carbs which had very small holes for the Accel pump

Same thing happened to my son's 06 last year at the track. We found that a scraw had backed out in the carb. not sure what to call it, but if you take the cever off the top of the carb that exposes the slide you will see the screw. when you push the throttle the slide goes up, without this screw it will not go up to let air in.
